Ingredient Notes
Oreos
For this pink treat, you can use any other type of sandwich-style cookie. Get creative and try golden Oreos or your favorite cookie for a unique twist! The possibilities are endless, and the results will surely be delicious!
Candy Melts
Although similar to regular chocolate and chocolate chips, candy melts are designed specifically for dipping and dripping. Candy melts are made of sugar and oils, not cocoa butter like you’d find in regular chocolate.
If your candy melts are too thick, you can easily fix it by adding a small spoonful of vegetable shortening or vegetable oil at a time until you achieve the desired consistency. Just remember, never use water or milk, as they can cause the mixture to seize and harden.
Sprinkles
Pink jimmies or non-paraiel sprinkles are a great option for decorating. You can also get a mix of sprinkles, or Valentine’s themed sprinkles depending on what occasion you’re making them for.

How To Make Pink Chocolate Dipped Oreos
Step 1: Prep
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper. This will prevent the chocolate-covered Oreos from sticking to the surface. You can use regular Oreos, golden Oreos, or your other favorite type of sandwich-style cookie for this recipe.
Step 2: Melt The Candy Melts
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the candy melts according to the package instructions. If you’re using a microwave, heat the melts at 50% power in short 30-second increments, stirring in between each interval to avoid overheating.
If you’re using a double boiler, place the bowl over simmering water and stir until fully melted. Then remove it from the heat so it doesn’t continue to heat and harden.
I used a mixture of bright pink and white candy melts to get the perfect shade of pink for my treats.
If your candy melts are too thick to dip the Oreos, add some vegetable oil or vegetable shortening to thin it out. Never use water or milk – the candy melts will seize and harden.
Step 3: Dip The Oreos
Using a fork, take an Oreo cookie and dip it into the melted pink candy melts, fully coating one side. Gently tap the fork against the edge of the bowl to let any excess chocolate drip back into the bowl.

Step 4: Cool The Pink Dipped Oreos
Place the chocolate-coated Oreo onto the lined baking sheet. You can put them in the fridge to cool faster or leave them at room temperature for a few minutes.

Step 5: Decorate The Dipped Oreos
After your first coat of chocolate has set, you can melt a small amount of white candy melts following the same instructions as before. Put the melted candy in a piping bag and cut off the very tip. Drizzle this second color over the top of the Oreo and then add your favorite sprinkles before it sets.
I also used a third color, purple, to drizzle over the top of mine.
Step 6: Let Them Set
Allow the chocolate-covered Oreos to cool and harden completely. You can speed up the process by placing the baking sheet in the refrigerator for a few minutes.
Step 7: Store And Serve
Once the chocolate has fully set, you can store the chocolate-covered Oreos in an airtight container. They can be stored for up to a week at room temperature or up to 3 weeks in the fridge.

Pink Chocolate Dipped Oreos Tips & FAQ’s
Can I use different cookies other than Oreos?
Any other type of sandwich-style cookie should work well for this kind of chocolate-dipped/candy-coated treat. You can also use golden Oreos or your favorite Oreo cookie for a different twist!
Can I use chocolate chips instead of candy melts?
Using white chocolate chips for dipping treats is not recommended as they are more resistant to melting and tend to burn faster in the microwave or double boiler. If you have no other option and only have white chocolate chips, you can try adding a spoonful of vegetable oil to help thin the chocolate for dipping.
An alternative to fully dipping the cookie in chocolate is to purchase a round cookie mold from a local craft or baking store. You can fill the mold with melted chocolate and then place the cookie inside to let it set. This way, you can achieve a similar result without the hassle of traditional dipping methods.
Can I use food coloring instead of colored candy melts?
When adding pink food coloring to candy melts or melted chocolate, be sure to use gel food coloring or powder. Regular liquid food coloring contains too much water, which can cause your chocolate to seize and become hard.
Alternatively, it’s recommended to use pre-colored candy melts to achieve the desired pink shade. You can mix red and white candy melts or white and pink candy melts to get the perfect light pink hue without risking the texture of your chocolate.
Which White Candy Melts Taste Best?
White candy melts don’t actually contain any cocoa butter, so they don’t taste like milk chocolate. Ghirardelli white chocolate candy melts are some of the best tasting and I have also used and enjoyed Wilton Candy Melts and Sweet Tooth Fairy brand candy melts.
