Between Miette Hot Springs, Pyramid Lake and the sandy beach at Lake Annette, there are so many fun things to do. 1) Lions Club of Jasper Playground

This might just be the biggest playground in the town of Jasper. The Lions Club of Jasper Park features three separate climbing and sliding structures, swings, and a sand pit with bouncers and see saws.

Baby swings and larger swings as well as slides of all different sizes make this playground a space where you can spend a lot of time. It also has a covered picnic area for shade and shelter.

Although this isn’t the largest park and doesn’t have swings or sand, the pebbles are fun to play with if you have shovels and buckets. There’s also a play ambulance and a springy ride-on fire truck for smaller kids.

4) Jasper Elementary School Park

If you’re visiting in the summer when school is out for the season, Jasper Elementary School Park is a great place to play. During July and August, it is open to the public from around 8 am to 10 pm. If you’re visiting in early fall or early spring, be mindful that this park will be in use by the school children and plan to explore elsewhere.

With at least three separate areas for climbing, this park has something for everyone. Although it doesn’t have baby swings, it does have ramps and smaller slides appropriate for younger school-aged children.

5) Jasper Park Lodge Park

The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is world-famous for its hospitality. If you’re staying there for a visit, or just going for the day as a member of the public to rent a boat, go on a horseback ride and enjoy the lake, you should also check out their playground. Park in the main visitor parking lot and walk over.

The climbing structure, open slide and larger tunnel slide are a great way to get some energy out. The park is also surrounded by log benches for adults to enjoy. The highlight of this playground might be the ground squirrels that inhabit the area. They are wild animals, so give them their space, but your children are sure to love watching them while they play.

6) Lake Annette Playground

If you’re visiting Jasper with kids, I highly recommend spending the day at Lake Annette. It’s a blue lake surrounded by a hiking trail and mountain peaks. Lake Annette has a paved path that is relatively flat all the way around one of the most beautiful lakes, which makes it a good walk for little legs or strollers. When you park a vehicle at the main Lake Annette parking lot, you’ll see the playground.

The playground has two slides, one small and one large as well as some nice climbing structures to explore. The area also has plenty of picnic tables and washroom access for the public. This can be a very popular spot in the afternoon and parking is on a first-come first-served basis, so it could be a good idea to come in the morning or early evening when there are fewer people.

7) The Creek Playground

The Creek playground might be the smallest playground in Jasper! But if you’re staying in a VRBO near this playground with toddlers, it might be worth checking out. It’s a short walk from the street in a residential area, so be sure to ride your bike, walk or find a respectful place to park that doesn’t block someone’s driveway if you’re checking this one out!

It has crushed tire ground covering, double slides for friends or siblings to race on, and a tunnel to crawl through.

Final Thoughts on Town of Jasper Playgrounds

Whichever park you pick, you’re going to have a great view of the Canadian Rockies! The summer months are the best time of year to visit Jasper town and take in the beautiful scenery, glacial lakes and take a guided tour. The playground can be the perfect place to burn off some energy and take in a magnificent view of the Rocky Mountains.

Your family might also love the Columbia Icefield Skywalk in the Icefields Parkway, Maligne Canyon, visiting Athabasca Falls and the Jasper Skytram. It’s also a lot of fun to walk through downtown Jasper and visit a gift shop for some typical Canadian souvenirs and ice cream.
